Computer Science and Engineering has gone viral in Pakistan . Some prefer it since it is believed that having a CS degree would get you a high paid job in one of the top Software Houses and a good repo in society while few take up this course because they actually want to . While some choose it because they love to use computer lol . Yes I've been hearing such explanations . Since I've been to the stage when I had to decide between a Bsc course , B.tech which are all trending courses along with my other friends . I discovered that many of my friends lack awareness of what CS is  and why should we pursue it keeping aside the factors like earning more for a better life. If you ask people what is CS , the most obvious answer that you could expect is : "Its Programming a Computer" . But what many doesn't understands in CS is not programming , but programming a Computer is just a part of CS . CS has broader meaning , anyway I won't get much into detail about it . During the decision making process , majority of people keep interest for the subject at the last in the parameter list , which implies the number of students who would compete for CS courses is more every year since rest of the parameters are common to almost the entire class of that particular year and some try to built up their interest after pursuing the course .Here we have the victims of Education System . Some succeeds while some not with this strategy . So basically it is a kind of "Blind Following and blind love for CS" . Every year newspapers and media telecast news headlines during the placements season and highlight students grabbing 6 digit packages which attracts the coming batches toward this course as well . So those very few students receiving such International job packages become inspiration for their juniors in high school . In Conclusion : CS is not just Mostly preferred but also Forcefully preferred
